The brief: preserve the existing workflow
The company managed recruitment in Google Sheets. It needed an easy entry point for candidates to browse vacancies, apply and complete test assignments through Telegram.
The spreadsheet remained the recruiters' working tool. The bot connected it with candidates to bring applications and documents into one workflow.
Current vacancies from the spreadsheet
Recruiters manage vacancies in Google Sheets. The bot retrieves their descriptions and settings, allowing candidates to choose a vacancy and review its requirements in Telegram.
Applications and CVs
After choosing a vacancy, a candidate uploads a CV as a document. The bot links the application to the vacancy and the user, saves the file to Google Drive and sends the data to the spreadsheet.
Test assignments with deadlines
The bot sends a link to the assignment and its due date. The deadline is calculated using the vacancy settings. Assignments can be sent immediately after a CV is received or after it has been reviewed, depending on the recruitment workflow.
Candidates submit completed assignments in the same chat. The bot saves the document and moves the application to the assignment review stage.
All materials in one place
Google Sheets receives application details, the current stage, and links to the CV and completed assignment. Documents are stored in Google Drive. Recruiters continue working in their familiar spreadsheet, while candidates complete the steps through Telegram.
Our work
We developed the Telegram bot and its Google Sheets and Google Drive integrations. Vacancy publication, CV collection, test assignments, deadlines and results were connected in a single workflow.
The bot is intended for the company's internal recruitment process, so we do not publish a public link.
